Florida - MSU Baseball Game Preview

Mississippi State and Florida face off in the second game of the SEC Baseball Tournament Tuesday afternoon.

Weather - The temperatures should be in the high 80s throughout most of the game. There is a 10% chance for rain. The wind is expected to be from the south at 16 to 18 miles per hour.

Gametime - Tuesday, 30 minutes after the 9:30 am game

Starting Pitchers - Florida will start junior RHP Tommy Toledo (3-3, 3.10 ERA) while Mississippi State will start freshman RHP Evan Mitchell (5-1, 3.48 ERA).

Florida - This will be Toledo's second start of the season. In his start against Florida State he gave up 3 runs (all earned) on 2 hits and 3 walks while striking out 1 in 2.1 innings. Although he only started one game this season, he was one of Florida's regular starters as a freshman in 2008 when he started 11 games, throwing 52.1 innings while allowing 21 earned runs. He has faced Florida this season, giving up 3 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and a walk while striking out 1 in 3.0 innings of relief.

Mitchell is coming off his best outing of the season, striking out 11 in 4.1 innings against Memphis. He gave up 0 runs on 4 hits and 1 walk. Counting the Memphis game he has not given up an earned run in his last 9 innings.
