This spring he attended Junior Days at "Mississippi State, Ole Miss and LSU".
The All-District performer plans on attending the May 18th Nike Camp and is looking at attending summer camps at "Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and possibly Alabama and possibly Tennessee."
Here's what he said when I asked him what schools he is most interested. "I know that LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee really stand out. And Nebraska and Colorado, too, because I've been getting a lot of interest from them also. I'm also interested in Stanford because I have been receiving information from them, too. I'm wide open, really."
ANTHONY'S VERY EARLY LIST OF SCHOOLS:
Dudley Swoope, a 17-year old 6-6, 215-pound tight end who plays at Heritage Academy, told me that his spring practice, "started last week."
Dudley is an excellent student who will easily qualify.
With college coaches now able to do their spring evaluations, Dudley has been told that several coaches will probably be coming by to evaluate him. "Coach Luke is supposed to come sometime this week," said Dudley. "Coach Jolley from Auburn may be up around this way. Then (MSU) Coach Tompkins said he will try to make it around here, too. I talked to them when I went to their schools."
Dudley attended several Junior Days this spring. "I went to State's Junior Awareness Day and I made it up to the Ole Miss one," said Dudley. "It was (Heritage Academy teammate) Conner (Wise) and I. We were the only two people at practice. We got to talk to Coach Cutcliffe for a really long time. I was going to the Alabama one, too, but the way things worked out, I wasn't able to."
Having been invited to the prestigious Nike Camp and planning on attending the one on May 18th, Dudley is also looking forward to attending several college camps this summer. "I do know for a fact that I'm going to the State camps with my team," said Dudley. "I'm definitely going to the Ole Miss camp. I'm going to try and make it to the Auburn, Southern Miss, and Alabama. Conner is talking about making a road trip and hitting a bunch of the schools that we have gotten some letters from east of here, like Georgia, maybe Georgia Tech and them come back up and maybe hit Vanderbilt, too."
When asked what schools he is most interested in, here is what Dudley said. "Of course, State. (Ole Miss assistant coach Matt) Luke is supposed to be coming to one of our practices this week, so Ole Miss. I love the SEC schools, so State, Ole Miss and a lot of the other SEC schools such as Auburn and Alabama (are on my list). And North Carolina, too. I'm really open right now."
DUDLEY'S VERY EARLY LIST OF SCHOOLS:
Connor Wise is a 17-year old 6-5, 200-pound quarterback who plays for Heritage Academy in Columbus, Mississippi.
Connor is an excellent student who will easily qualify.
Connor, an All-Conference selection and the Commercial Dispatch Player of the Year, told me that he attended Junior Days at "Mississippi State, Auburn and was supposed to attend Ole Miss' and Southern Miss' but couldn't make it."
With a Nike invitation in hand, Connor told me he plans on "attending the May 18th Nike Camp." He also told me that he "got invited to an Elite 11 Quarterback workout camp where they evaluate you for the Elite 11 Quarterback camp."
When asked what camps he will be attending this summer, he said "Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn and, maybe, Alabama, but I'm really not sure." As his teammate, Dudley Swoope, told me earlier, he's also considering going on a road trip to several colleges, such as Georgia, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt.
Schools he told me he is interested in are "Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, Alabama , and North Carolina."
CONNOR'S VERY EARLY LIST OF SCHOOLS:
Blake Barnes is a 17-year old 6-3, 215-pound quarterback who plays for Baldwyn High School in Baldwyn, Mississippi.
Blake is an excellent student who will easily qualify.
An All-State selection the past two years, Blake attended several spring practices and games this spring and has plans on attending LSU's Junior Day. "I'm going to a Junior Day at LSU this Saturday," said Blake. "I attended a practice at (Mississippi) State. I attended an Alabama practice and their spring game. And Ole Miss' spring game."
Planning on attending the prestigious Nike Camp for the second straight spring, Blake told me he has tentative plans on attending several summer camps. "Our team is going to the 7 on 7 camps at Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Alabama. I think I am going to Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia and I'm going to Purdue's Elite Quarterback camp. I really haven't finalized any of them, yet."
Although schools throughout the country are showing interest in him, Blake, who is still very much open to all schools, said "Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas and Georgia" are schools that he is most interested in at this time.
