"I definitely think my speed help me out a lot," said Ewing when asked his strengths as a baseball player. "A couple of weeks ago I ran a 6.7 sixty. I also have really quick hands and good bat speed. I can bunt well. I can also track the ball down well in center field. And my arm is pretty good."
But like any talented player there are always things that need to be worked on.
"I need to work on not getting upset with myself if I pop up or do something like that," said the youngster. "I also want to continue working on being a good teammate and helping others out."
Although he's only going into his sophomore year, he's already started receiving some recruiting interest.
"I've been talked to by a couple of coaches after tournament games," said Ewing. "They said they like my arm, my speed and just the way I perform."
As for favorite schools, he's got a couple that he's interested in as well as a certain league.
"I like South Carolina, and I do like California a lot, along with USC," said Dalton Ewing. "I've always wanted to go out west. And I definitely like the SEC because the atmosphere is big. I really want to go to a big school."
