"Southern Miss, Tulane, ULM (University of Louisiana at Monroe) and Southeastern Louisiana called me July 1st. Ole Miss' Coach Lafferty called me Sunday night and told me he was coming to see me play Monday. Tennessee called me last night (Monday) and Coach Thompson of Mississippi State called me yesterday (Monday). He told me that he has liked what he has seen from me."
What have the coaches talked to you about when talking to you on the phone?
"The coaches have said that they like the way I catch and how I manage the game. Tulane, Tennessee and ULM said they want me to come in for a visit after the Fort Myers World Wood Bat Association event that I'm going to. I think it's like this one (in Marietta, Georgia) but not as big. I think Southern Miss Coach Federico wants to make those games. Those coaches (Tulane, Tennessee, ULMP) want me to come in for an unofficial visit if I come prior to the start of school or an official one if school has started."
Do you have any favorites at the moment?
"Definitely all the Mississippi colleges since I'm from Mississippi. I also like Tennessee because my uncle is an alumnus of Tennessee. And I have a cousin going there this year, so I would be a year behind her if I went there. I also like Tulane. They started talking to me a couple of weeks ago and I like what I hear about them. I've heard some real nice things about them and I want to check them out."
[I have personally seen Todd catch here at the 17U World Wood Bat Association National Championship tournament. He does have great receiving skills and a cannon for an arm. He told me he has a pop time of 1.9 seconds and based on what I have seen I agree with that time. He is 6-0 tall, weighs 170 pounds and bats and throws right.-Gene]
