The latest sports news from the MSU Media Relations Department...Volleyball.

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State's volleyball match at the University of Mississippi October 2 is one of six Southeastern Conference volleyball matches tabbed for televising by ESPNU as part of the sports network's 17-match college volleyball broadcast schedule for 2011. It marks the first national telecast for the MSU volleyball program.

First serve for the Sunday afternoon competition at UM's Gillom Sports Center has been set for 4 p.m. (CT). Additional TV dates for MSU volleyball this fall could be added when the SEC TV schedule is finalized in the coming weeks.

ESPNU's all-HD broadcast slate also includes Tennessee at Florida (Sept. 25), Auburn at Georgia (Oct. 5), Tennessee at Kentucky (Oct. 12), Florida at South Carolina (Oct. 19) and LSU at Arkansas (Oct. 26).

Mississippi State launches its 2011 volleyball schedule August 26-27 when the Bulldogs host Southern Illinois, Tennessee-Martin and Southeastern Louisiana in the 2011 Maroon Classic.
