MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update Week 15

It all began during the dog days of summer, but now only a handful of teams will be able to play the first week in December. A pair of Mississippi State commitments punched their tickets to the big dance this weekend, while another saw his high school career come to an end.

Xavier Grindle threw a 10 yard touchdown pass to help East Marion avenge their lone loss of the season with a 23-21 win over Bassfield.

The Eagles enjoyed two state championships under coach Leslie Peters, so the trophy case is already on campus.

Grindle and his senior class are ready to add to the program's championship total.

East Marion will take on West Bolivar next weekend in the 2A state title game Friday afternoon at 3 PM in Jackson.

Torrey Bell and John Curtis Christian continued their strong play and hope to return to the Louisiana Superdome for a shot at another Patriot state title.

Curtis blasted Kinder 41-14 on Friday night to advance to next week's semifinal game against Evangel (8-5).

The two powers will collide at 7 PM Friday night.

Devon Desper hoped to playing next Friday night as well, but it was not to be. The Jaguars are stopped once again in the north state title game.

Olive Branch jumped out to an early lead and then held on for a 40-35 decision.

The Conquistadors will take on Petal High School and Quarterback Anthony Alford who upset #1 Meridian Friday night.

The Panthers had never won a playoff game before this season and will now play for a state championship next Friday night.

The only other Mississippi State commitment still in action is Dylan Holley. Holley and Mississippi Gulf Coast will take on Blinn next Sunday in the Mississippi Bowl.
