Scoring off the dribble is something that Fred knew he had to do to become a complete offensive player.
"I'm good at shooting the (outside shot) but I'm working on my handles," said Fred. "I can now create my own shot when I am posting or when I'm face up. Either way, I can create my own shot."
As you would also expect from a player signed by Mississippi State head basketball coach Rick Stansbury, a defensive mindset is always important. And Fred definitely has that type mindset.
"The way we play pressing, man-to-man defense, he helps us out a lot due to how long and athletic he is," said Speech. "We don't have much size, so we allow him to guard the point guard. Because they are a lot smaller than him due to his long arms, that sets our defense up so that the other guys can get steals and score on the fast break."
While he has taken major steps this season with his overall game, Fred knows that he will have to improve a couple of other aspects of his game when it comes to playing on the collegiate level.
"I have to stay in the weight room and get stronger and I have to be more aggressive on the court," said Fred.
