Mississippi All-Star DB Rickey Wright

Rickey, who played quarterback for South Panola High School, is playing free safety and cornerback for the Mississippi High School all-star team.

Rickey, you are playing DB. Is this the first time that you have played DB?
"Yes sir, I've played it 3 times in high school, twice my sophomore year and once this year."

Has it been a tough adjustment for you playing DB here?
"Yeah, a lot."

Have you gotten used to it, yet?
"I've just about gotten used to it. It's coming along."

Where are you playing in the backfield?
"Safety and corner."

Where are they going to use you during the game?
"They are going to start me off at safety, free safety."

Talk about being on this Mississippi all-star team. It's the elite of the elite.
"I've very happy to be here. I feel special to be here. Everybody is doing well. We are just trying to get better and move to the next level."

Alabama has a four-game winning streak. Are you guys ready to end it?
"Yeah, we are ready to end it."

What have the State coaches told you they want you to do before you come in for workouts?
"Make sure I run a lot and work out in the weight room."
