Your initial reaction when you read about West Bolivar High School in Rosedale, Mississippi is that they are the high school that has the outstanding running back Kailo Moore. While Kailo is a key component of their offense, the driving force behind the offense is their junior quarterback Kylan Johnson.
As for the type player that he is, Kylan has almost all of the attributes that you want in your quarterback.
"I'm good on first downs because I can throw good short passes," said the youngster. "I feel like I'm good at reading defenses and can find the holes in a defense which allows us to get the ball into the endzone. I also feel like I'm a good leader, have a strong arm, really good hands and have decent speed."
While Kylan hasn't received the recruiting attention that Kailo has, there are a couple of schools that he's interested in.
"I'm interested in Southern Miss and Ole Miss," said Kylan.
Although he's still in the learning process when it comes to both schools, there is one thing he does know about with both - their offenses. He talked a little about both.
Southern Miss - "I like their offense because it is a spread type offense."
Ole Miss - "I like their offense because it is multiple."
With college Junior Days going on right now, Kylan plans on taking in one this spring so he can learn more about the schools and the coaches.
"I haven't gone to any Junior Days yet, but I plan on going to Ole Miss' Junior Day," said the 5-11.5, 165-pounder.
