Rodney Hood To Transfer

Mississippi State freshman basketball player Rodney Hood has decided that he will be transferring to another college at the end of this semester.

Hood, who averaged 10.3 points per game while starting 29 of Mississippi State's 33 games this past season, has decided to leave the Mississippi State program according to new head men's basketball coach Rick Ray.

According to an exclusive interview that Gene's Page did with Rodney's dad Rickey last week, Rodney was to sit down with his family and discuss his options about whether to stay at Mississippi State or transfer.

Gene's Page confirmed from Rickey via a text tonight that Rodney indeed has decided to transfer.

As of now, there are no details as to which college Rodney, a five-star recruit out of high school, will be transferring to. He chose Mississippi State over his final list of Alabama, Florida State, Georgetown, Louisville and Marquette.

The talk of a transfer started when 14-year Mississippi State head men's basketball coach Rick Stansbury abruptly retired at the conclusion of this past season. Stansbury was replaced by Clemson Associate Head Coach Rick Ray.
