  • How did Mississippi State get involved with you recruiting-wise
"I've been knowing (MSU assistant coach) Wes (Flanigan) for many years because I play for his dad at Parkview High School. When (Wes) went to Mississippi State he told the coaches about me and Coach (Ray) came to one of my tournaments and he said he loved my game. He wanted me to come down for a visit and I went down there for a visit last Saturday. I talked to Coach Ray and his staff and walked around and looked at their facilities. I saw all their facilities, the weight room, the practice facility, the coliseum, the campus. They are great facilities. When I left Coach Ray I met the athletic tutor and she put everything on the table about how my first year would be in regard to academics."

Did you get to meet any of the players?
"I met Wendell (Lewis) and he came up there and I went out with him and he showed me around. "

Once you were through with your visit, you committed a few days later. What was the process like between the time you visited and when you committed?
"I was there with my dad. I went home and talked to my mom about it. She talked to the coach (Ray). Then, we talked it over. She said any decision that I make and if I was happy with it, she would be happy with it, too."

You mentioned that Coach Ray loved your game. What did he tell you that he liked about it?
"He liked that I pick up things quickly, my fast tempo of play and my defense. He also said I am a hard-nose type guard. He loved that I can make plays for my team and that I am a natural point guard."

What do you feel are your strengths as a basketball player?
"My strengths are making my teammates better and I love defense. That's what gets everything going. I can get to the hole anytime. I can shoot off the dribble very well."

What are some things you still need to work on?
"I work on everything but if I needed to work on just one thing it would be to get stronger for the next level."

    What schools have offered you?
"Nebraska, Mississippi State, University of Central Arkansas in Conway, and University of Arkansas at Little Rock."
