  • Staver, one of the top 2013 quarterbacks in the state of Tennessee, is making the camp circuit this week. After camping at Memphis Tuesday, he was in Starkville camping at Mississippi State.

"The (Mississippi State) camp was awesome," said Staver, "I really enjoyed it. I had two teammates with me, a running back and a defensive end. The stuff that we did on the field relates to what you do in a game. All the drills are universal, so you can take them home with you."

He came away from the camp highly impressed with the Mississippi State coaches that he met and worked with.

"The coaches are very personable, very humble guys," said the three-star quarterback. "They are some of the best in the business. And they work with you."

Although he has an offer from Mississippi State, he's taking his time when it comes to making his college choice. And the Mississippi State coaches didn't try to rush him into making a decision while he was on the MSU campus.

"The coaches are awesome about it," said Staver, who also has offers from Northern Colorado, Louisville and Tennessee State and is expecting one from Memphis in a day or two. "They weren't trying to push me for a decision or commitment. They told me to stay patient and don't rush into a decision. There is no reason to rush into a decision because you are going to be married to it. It's a 40-year decision, not just a four- or five-year decision. This decision kind of sets you up for life. They told me to take all of my visits and then let the decision come to me."

Staver has several more camps scheduled this week and possibly later in the summer.

"I went to Memphis yesterday, Mississippi State today, going to Florida Saturday, I'm trying to get to Duke Sunday," said the youngster. "If I don't get offers at those camps, then I may go to the west coast and check out a couple of schools there, Washington, Washington State and Oregon State."
