"South Carolina, Louisville, University of Utah, (Mississippi) State, Southern (Miss), Ole Miss, Florida, Maryland, UTEP are recruiting me," said Patterson. "There's a long list of schools."
As for offers, she currently has four.
"South Carolina, Utah, Southern Miss and Louisville have offered," said Patterson.
Patterson received her first offer very early in her high school career.
"I received my first offer in the 9th grade," said Patterson. "It was from Southern Miss. That shocked me because I was 14-years old and just starting high school."
According to her high school head coach, Yvonne Hairston, the long list of schools recruiting her includes several other SEC schools and non-SEC schools.
"South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Louisville are showing interest in her and Rutgers has emailed me a couple of times lately," said Hairston. "In-state, Mississippi State and Ole Miss are recruiting her. She has a lot of schools showing interest."
Based on what she saw from Patterson early on, the recruiting attention doesn't surprise Hairston.
"She has really developed her game and has become a big-time player," said Hairston. "When she first moved up to varsity in the 9th grade she was a shooting guard. But we knew if she wanted to play on the next level she was going to have to be a point guard. Last year, we moved her to the point and she did well. She penetrated well, passed the ball extremely well, played good defense. She has also become very vocal and a leader on the team. We are excited about her."
Obviously, college coaches are just as excited as Hairston about her senior point guard. Patterson explains what they say they like about her game.
"The coaches say that I am a very explosive guard and they like the way I carry myself on the floor," said Patterson. "They also like that I have a variety of moves."
She's also as great a person as she is a basketball player.
"She is not only a great player but a great kid," said Hairston. "She's always fun to be around."
With her senior season fast approaching, Patterson has an idea which conference she will sign with but not which school.
"I am still open to all the schools, although I do know that I will stay in the SEC," said Patterson. "I know that for a fact. I want to get it down to the top five schools that I want to go to in the fall (for official visits)."
