2014 QB Hunter Boyett update

    Westminister Christian School 2014 quarterback Hunter Boyett recently attended a June Mississippi State football camp. And MSU quarterbacks coach Les Koenning came away impressed, according to Boyett.

    "The (Mississippi State quarterbacks) coach said I have a strong arm and made long throws look easy," said the young signal-caller.

    This past season, while playing behind senior quarterback David Thompson, a Miami (FL) signee, Boyett completed 14-of-20 passes for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is expected to be the starting quarterback for the Warriors during the 2012 season.

    Although he is being heavily recruited, with around 30 colleges showing some interest in him, he mentioned six schools that are showing recruiting interest in him.

    "So far, Mississippi State, Miami (FL), Yale, LSU, Florida and FSU are recruiting me," said Boyett.

    Scout.com/FoxSportsNext.com National Recruiting Analyst Chad Simmons saw Boyett at the MVP Camp in Orlando, Florida in February, 2011 and commented that, "(Boyett) has a ton of potential down the road."
