Fairchild is an excellent catching prospect from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. He talks about his style of play.
"One thing I really try to do every time is hustle as hard as I can, back up bases whenever I can and do whatever I can do to help my team win," said the youngster.
He particularly prides himself on his defensive skills.
"Defensively, a couple of things that I pride myself on is blocking and receiving," he said. "I take a lot of pride in both of those things."
Several midwest schools are currently showing recruiting interest in him.
"I've gotten stuff from Central Michigan, Illinois State, Minnesota, more midwest teams," he said.
Although he has an idea what type of school that he would like to attend, the main goal right now for the talented catcher is simply playing on the next level.
"Going south (and playing baseball) would be nice but I just want to play ball on the college level," he said.
Fairchild and his Hitters Baseball teammates played in Memphis, Tennessee the past two weeks in the Keith Hagan Memorial All-American Tournament (wood bat) in front of numerous college coaches.
