White Station (TN) High School 2014 point guard Chris Chiozza, who plays AAU ball with No. 1 ranked Team Thad 16U, is receiving attention from numerous colleges east of the Mississippi River.

  • "VCU, UMass, Memphis, Murray State, Kent State, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Auburn, Ole Miss, Wake Forest are showing interest in me," said Chiozza, "I have offers from VCU, Richmond, Murray State, Kent State, UMass, Ole Miss."

He also has an offer from Missouri according to Team Thad head coach Norton Hurd.

Being the glue that keeps the No. 1 ranked 16U team together, Chiozza understands his role on the team, both offensively and defensively.

"Offensively, I play with a lot of speed and help create for other people by providing assists," he said. "The way I pass helps my team because I help them create easy baskets. I can score, shoot also. On defense, I play with speed, get steals which helps start the offense and helps us get down the court."

Chiozza, considered one of the fastest players in the class of 2014 by FOXSportsNEXT national recruiting analyst Brian Snow, has used his exceptional speed and passing ability to earn seven early offers. And he is very much appreciative that colleges have extended them.

"I love it," he said. "I'm trying to use basketball to get to college. That way, when I'm done with basketball I'll use my college education to do something else."

Keep it on as we continue to follow Chris Chiozza's recruitment.
