What sports did you play in high school?
"I played football and wrestled three years. I enjoyed the years I spent with my coaches. They worked me hard and put me through some very good conditioning. I thank God for them and thank God for the people who have supported me, encouraged me and prayed for me."
You were pretty good as a wrestler, weren't you?
"I was two-time state champion in the 215 class. My sophomore year I ranked number 3 in the nation."
What position are you going to play at State? Defensive end?
"Yes sir, defensive end."
What is your current height and weight?
"It's 6-1 and 250."
Has your position coach, John Blake, talked to you about adding more weight?
"I think he wants me to gain a little bit more. I will be happy if I'm 260 and pretty solid and move just as good as I move now."
What's your forty speed?
"It's 4.7 or 4.6."
What do you anticipate will happen your freshman year? Do you expect to play or do you expect to redshirt?
"I don't know what they are talking abour right now. I'm just going to go out and try to get some playing time. If I don't, I will thank God and shoot for it the next year."
Talk a little about Avery Hannibal the person and not the football player.
"I enjoy going to church. I enjoy talking about Christian things. I love life in general. I like to learn things about other people. I'm thinking about going into Criminal Justice or be a coach. I like to be around and help people. I think that is something God has really put into my heart."
