MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update Week 6

High school programs in the state of Mississippi are now halfway home when it comes to the 2012 regular season. District play is in full swing and every game gets bigger from here on out. Five Mississippi State commitments are enjoying undefeated seasons, while others are still jockeying for position in the race for the post season.

Deon Mix and South Panola put together their best offensive output of the season on Friday as the Tigers shelled Horn Lake 55-3.

The Tigers (3-2) will head over to Olive Branch this week in hopes of getting a leg up in the race for the district crown.

Houston defensive end Chris Jones had thirteen tackles, five sacks and four quarterback hurries as the Hilltoppers knocked off Bruce 21-6.

This week Houston (6-0) will take on Louisville (3-3) in a big game for both teams.

Brandon Wells ran for 65 yards on 10 carries, caught three passes for 26 yards, recorded seven tackles and had a big interception in Bogue Chitto's 19-15 win over Hinds AHS.

The Bobcats are 5-0 and will host Salem this week.

Jamaal Clayborn and Jackson Academy kept their state best winning streak in tact as they got by Heritage 41-35 on Friday.

The Raiders (6-0) will host Lee Academy this week.

B.J. Hammond and Gadsden won extended their win streak to four as the undefeated Titans beat Alberville 35-7.

Hammond was held out of the endzone this week, but he will look to return to paydirt this week as Gadsden City hosts Auburn.

Cord Sandberg and Manatee (3-0) enjoyed a bye week and will play at Southeast this week.

Kent Flowers and Hollandale-Simmons have won two in a row. An 8-7 win over Gentry this Friday night allowed Simmons to advance to 1-0 in district play.

Flowers will look to keep the momentum going this week as they play at Riverside.

Jake Thomas and Columbus are now 4-1 on the season after blanking district foe Tupelo 14-0.

The Falcons will host Southaven this week in the second district contest for both teams.

Kailo Moore ran for 124 yards and a pair of scores on just ten carries as West Bolivar (4-2) won over Leland in a cakewalk 41-0.

The competition should be a little stiffer this week as the Eagles travel to 5-0 South Delta on Friday.

Gabriel Myles was 6 of 7 passing for 123 yards and a score as Starkville blasted Lanier 48-0.

The Yellowjackets are back in the capital city this week as they travel to Provine.

Ulric Jones and Trent Simpson helped Oxford even its' record at 2-2 with a 38-21 win over Huntsville.

Scott Austin caught six passes for 111 yards in Biloxi's second overtime loss of the season.

D'iberville knocked off the Indians (3-2) 23-22.

BHS will look to get back on track this week as they travel to George County.

Shelby Christy and Dutchtown fell to Zachary 21-14.

The Broncos blocked both a punt and field goal along the way as they upset the Griffins who were ranked #4 in the state.

Dutchtown will take on Destrehan this week in one of south Louisiana's top match-ups.

DeVante Scott suffered a season ending knee injury during Co-Lin's win over Hinds Thursday night.
