Dwight and Dwayne Reynolds are twins that star for Punta Gorda Charlotte High School in southwest Florida. They both play in the secondary and share significant time at wide receiver.
"It doesn't matter to me," said Dwayne, who starts at safety. "I just want to play ball in college."
Dwight prefers offense. You can tell he likes the ball in his hands.
"I can play cornerback or safety," Dwight said. "But I can play wide receiver all day long. I love it. I love that ball."
The two trade off every series offensively. Against Venice on Friday night, Dwight got the nod and finished with three receptions and a touchdown reception in the fourth quarter. Dwayne had two receptions. It wasn't a game that they threw the ball a lot. They stayed fresh on offense, although they didn't get many touches. Both made their presence felt on defense in the secondary.
"It's good and I think that helps us stay a little fresh because we both do play defense," Dwight said.
Dwayne is 6-foot-2 and 180-pounds while Dwight is a half-inch taller. Neither have a scholarship offer yet.
"We are getting mail and hearing from a ton of schools like LSU, Florida State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Miami, Indiana and USF. Seriously, there are so many more schools but no one has offered us yet."
