Daniels has been receiving recruiting interest from Mississippi State since his freshman season at Shelton State Community College but a summer camp he participated in really caused his stock to rise among a lot of colleges.
"I think (Mississippi State) starting recruiting me last year but they starting picking up their recruiting of me this summer," said the talented forward. "I went to the All-American Juco Camp in Augusta and my stock went up. I was told that I was the hot guy on the market at the camp. I drew a lot of interest at the camp."
And the interest continued after the camp was over.
"After that camp, it was like Mississippi State, Oklahoma, UCF, Western Kentucky, Murray State, UNC-Greenville showing interest in me," said Daniels. "It just went on like that after the camp."
Several schools showed more interest than others. And he quickly figured out the schools that were the most serious about him.
"You know when coaches are really interested in you because they start wanting to talk to your parents," said Daniels. "That's when I knew (Mississippi State) was really interested in me."
The interest from Mississippi State continues to be strong.
"They told me that they needed to get me down to the campus soon," said Daniels. "I haven't visited Mississippi State yet because my coach wants me to wait until after our second jamboree (in Dallas) before I take any of my (official) visits."
But he does plan on visiting them officially.
"I don't have in my mind what visits I want to take but I do know that I want to go to Mississippi State," said Daniels. "I'm not sure about the others yet."
He is expecting a visit from Mississippi State Friday (September 28th).
"Coach Rick Ray is coming in (Friday) to watch me work out," said Daniels.
Daniels is looking forward to the visit because Mississippi State is definitely a college that has qualities he's looking for when it comes time to sign with a school.
"Mississippi State is a good school, they are in the SEC and I like their style of play," he said. "I also played AAU ball with two of the guys who are on their team, Craig Sword and Roquez Johnson."
Daniels is also considering several other schools.
"I'm also considering Southern Miss, Western Kentucky, Wichita State, Murray State and a lot of other schools," he said. "I haven't narrowed it down yet. I won't do that until after the jamboree in Dallas."
