"It was pretty nice," Woodley said. "I really like the coaching staff. I talked with all the people there. And it was awesome to watch their game. Unfortunately they didn't win but I saw what that stadium is like on game day. It's a very good college environment and they have very nice facilities. That was my first time up to Purdue."
Woodley knows that Purdue presents itself as a very good situation for him, especially when it comes to playing time.
"I met with coaches and they are telling me that they need a big back in the program," Woodley said. "They need someone to fill that role immediately and play as a freshman. It's a very good situation for me. There's no doubt in my mind about that."
Woodley, 6-foot-0 and 205-pounds, knows of a few more visits he will take in the coming weeks.
"I certainly plan on taking a couple of more but I am not sure where yet," Woodley said. "I know at least one or two more visits like Pitt and maybe South Florida and West Virginia. I am still talking with Florida State but I know they have a few backs ahead of me. So I will see what happens with them as well."
Columbus finishes the season playing Miami Killian this Wednesday before the playoffs.
