Fallou notified MSU head coach Rick Ray today that he wants to be a Bulldog.
"Fallou decided to commit and just got off the phone with Coach Ray earlier this afternoon," said Coach Simon.
He talked about the things that impressed him about Mississippi State.
"He really liked Coach Ray and has a great relationship with him," said Coach Simon. "He felt like there was a need for him with the team. A lot of it came down to his relationship and the need. And a lot of what he wanted in a school matched what Mississippi State had. But I think a lot of it came down to Coach Ray.
"Mississippi State recruited him very hard and made it very clear the priority they had in him by how they pursued him. I have nothing but the utmost respect in Coach Ray because he is very thorough and an impressive guy."
In addition to Mississippi State he had numerous other schools showing interest in him.
"I hate to misrepresent anyone but we had so many calls because we have nine seniors," said Coach Simon. "Fallou had schools from every major conference in pursuit of him. But Mississippi State did a great job in making him a priority."
Coach Simon talked about things that college coaches told him that they liked about Fallou.
"Fallou really runs the floor well," said Coach Simon. "He's physically aggressive and likes contact. He's also a good rebounder. He's just a strong post player."
Coach Simon expects to see Fallou improve even more this season.
"As he continues to fill out more, he's going to be a pretty good back to the basket post scorer," he said. "He's a guy who can get the ball in the post and do something with it. He's not strictly a run and jump type guy. We have a lot of size here so he gets plenty of practice against all the 7-footers that we have. He's got a lot of upside and will be a defensive presence."
Fallou Ndoye is the fourth commitment for MSU's Rick Ray in the class of 2013. The others are Parkview Magnet HS point guard I.J. Ready (5-10, 160), Mineral Area CC small forward Quantel Denson (6-9, 225) and Shelton State CC small forward Travis Daniels (6-8, 205).
