"Things are all good," said Hytchye. "I'm looking at taking my official visits and will be taking my first one to Pittsburgh. I'm hoping to see everything I need to see with my officials that way I can go ahead and make my decision and get things wrapped up.
"Right now I'm playing it by ear pretty much and just taking my time. Pittsburgh is scheduled and if I feel comfortable I could go ahead and make my commitment. If not I'll look to schedule other ones."
What has made the 6-0, 165-pound corner comfortable with the Panthers?
"I really feel comfortable with the staff they brought in and really like them a lot," said Hytchye. "They are great people and I feel in love with the staff as soon as I met them. I could definitely see them becoming a factor in the BCS and one of the top contenders in the ACC. So I definitely see potential there and I guess they see potential in me as well."
While the Panthers could be close to sealing the deal with Hytchye there are still at least two other programs of interest that could receive visits.
"Arizona State wants to get me back down for another visit," said Hytchye. "I went out there for about a week this summer and got a chance to see campus on my own and get an academic tour and meet with some of the coaches to see the facilities. I've been talking with (assistant) coach (Joe) Lorig and (grad-assistant) coach (Dan) Lanning. So I could also look to visit there as well.
"I was offered by Kentucky under the previous staff and I just learned Coach (Joker) Phillips is now at Florida and I'm glad to hear that. Right now I'm waiting on a call from new head coach Mark Stoops so he can tell me where they are at and I can tell him where I'm at.
