Dawkins hearing from new school?

Dalyn Dawkins and Trinity won another 6-A State Championship this season – their third straight. Dawkins was a key component for Trinity, leading them in rushing the last two years and catching the eyes of several schools.

The 5-foot-9, 180-pound back picked up offers from Ball State, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Illinois, Purdue and Western Kentucky. There have been coaching changes at three of those six programs, so it remains to be seen where he stands with all but Ball State, Colorado State and Illinois.

"Everything is good with recruiting," said Dawkins. "I have just set up my official visit with Colorado State on January 18th. The others I don't have a date set up yet," said Dawkins.

But who is this new program coming in right now?

"Coach Taggart, who left Western Kentucky to go to South Florida is showing me interest," said Dawkins. "I told him that I would be interested in USF. They haven't offered yet, but I know they will."

Dawkins rushed for 1479 yards and 18 touchdowns for his 13-1 team.
