Jackson Drawing Early Interest

Southwest Mississippi has been particularly fruitful over the course of the last few years when it comes to producing college level football prospects. One area prospect, Lee Jackson of Natchez High, is working hard to add to the region's recent run of good fortune.

Lee Jackson profile

"I have been hearing from a lot of schools," said Jackson. "I have heard a lot from Nebraska and Tennessee lately.

"I have heard some from Southern Miss and some from Mississippi State too."

Jackson began to venture out to college camps last summer, but he plans to take the summer camp circuit by storm this year.

"We went to the LSU 7-on-7 camp and I went to Louisiana Tech last year," said Jackson. "I am going to a bunch of one day camps this year, so I can show coaches what I can do.

"I didn't go to a whole lot of camps last year, but I am going to as many as I can get to this year."

Jackson has played both corner and safety on the high school level, but most schools project him to play safety collegiately.

While the process is still in the early stages, Jackson has an idea about what he wants in a college program.

"I really want to get my education first of all," said Jackson. "I want to get my degree.

"I want to look at the depth charts and find a place that I have the chance to play early.

"I would like to be able to get on the field early in my career."
