For John Curtis Christian School standout Terrence Alexander, the recruiting process has picked up steam since the end of his high school season. The 5-10 175 pound cornerback has already collected numerous scholarship offers, spanning from coast to coast. Alexander, who made 35 tackles to along with one interception in 2012, has become aware that he is a priority for many schools in the early stages of the recruiting process.
"The recruiting process is going pretty nicely," said the class of 2014 prospect. "I still seven offers. I've been getting a lot of interest from Texas A&M, Miami, and Northwestern. I talk to a couple of coaches on the phone. I talk to the Ole Miss coaches and Vanderbilt coaches a lot."
One school that Alexander has hopes of visiting in the near future is a little over an hour from his home in the New Orleans, LA, area. While he does not currently hold an offer from LSU, Alexander says the Tigers, and recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson, have stayed in contact with him throughout the entire process.
"The last thing I got from them was about their junior day," said Alexander. "I'm checking on going to the Boys from the Boot. I'm not sure if I'll be there, but I'm actually going to figure that out tonight. Frank Wilson has been in contact with me relatively often. He's usually the coach I hear from the most."
While he has attended several LSU games, and has been around the campus countless times, Alexander is looking forward to visiting LSU outside of football season.
"I'm planning on going to one of the junior days for sure," said Alexander. "I just want to see how the atmosphere around the campus is. I've been there a lot, so I have seen pretty much everything during football season. It will be cool to see how the campus is on a regular day."
Aside from the home-state LSU Tigers, Alexander explained that he hears a lot from numerous schools, ranging from the SEC to the PAC-12.
"All of the schools that have offered me have talked to me a lot," said Alexander. "Stanford, Northwestern, Ole Miss, and Cincinnati keep in contact with me the most, but I talk to every school that has offered me pretty frequently."
Alexander also explained that he already has visit plans in the works for the next several months. After taking in LSU Alexander hopes to take several trips to see as many schools as he possibly can.
"I will take a trip out West to visit Stanford and UCLA, and maybe USC," explained Alexander. "I want to take a trip to Miami as well. I don't know all of the schools yet, but I want to try to visit Oklahoma and Ohio State. Those two schools were in contact with me early on."
Even though he doesn't currently have a top list of schools, Alexander has already put a plan in place on when he would like to narrow down his list and decide on official visit destinations.
"I don't know as of yet, but I'm going to have a top-five going into my senior year," said Alexander. "I don't want to worry about recruiting during my season. I'll decide on official visits after that."
