WR Kyrin Priester Profile
Earlier this week, CUTigers caught up with his coach at Brookwood High School, Mark Crews.
It's been quite a ride for Priester since he transferred into the Snellville, Ga. school last February from Lake Mary High School in Florida.
"As far as I know and from what he told me, he wasn't being recruited very heavily at all," Crews said. "So I think he was a little bit overwhelmed by the process once he got entrenched here.
"That's not being derogatory to anybody else. But, because of the area we play in, we've got a lot of recruiters that concentrate pretty heavily on this area."
Priester committed to Georgia last April. He decommitted from the Dawgs in June. By October, he was on board with a pledge to N.C. State.
Since his commitment to the Wolfpack, Tom O'Brien has been fired and Dave Doeren was hired from Northern Illinois.
Priester will take an official visit to Clemson this weekend and is scheduled to visit Ohio State later this month.
"He's like a lot of 18-year-olds. He wants a lot of things and he's trying to make his mind about what's going to be best for him over the next four years," Crews said. "I think Clemson is pretty high up on his list right now."
When Priester arrives to Clemson for his visit on Friday, he'll see former recruiter of note from N.C. State, Mike Reed. Reed, who coached defensive backs for the Wolfpack, is on staff in Tigertown in the same capacity.
"Coach Reed…that was one of the reasons, I think. [Priester] really likes coach," Crews said.
If Priester was to flip his commitment to Clemson, Crews said the Tigers would be adding a solid person and a player.
"He's an outstanding kid, first of all, a good quality. He's going to be at every workout and works hard. Has a great attitude, which, many times, is just as important to your team," Crews said.
He added, "He was somewhere in the sixties [catches] for right at 1,200 yards and 12 or 13 touchdowns, returned a couple of punts for touchdowns. Not only is he an outstanding young man, but he's also a really good player."
A possible flip to Clemson?
