Harris Enjoys Visit, Down To Two

A program can never have enough defensive tackles. Southern Miss has a few in the fold, and they are close to securing a commitment from another defensive tackle from Hueytown, AL. He talks about his time on campus and where he stands after his visit with GoldenEaglePride.com.

Jerry Harris has held an offer from Southern Miss for quite some time, and even through the coaching transition, he's always been interested. He took a visit to Hattiesburg this weekend and took some time to talk about it with GoldenEaglePride.com.

"I really enjoyed the visit a lot, and I love the new coaching staff," he said on his way home from a weekend in Hattiesburg.

"I could see myself there, no doubt."

Harris said this visit confirmed the good thoughts he already had about Southern Miss, and now he's going to go home and take some time to think things over.

"I have been offered for a while now, and I'm really thinking hard about committing," he said. "I'm down to two schools, Colorado and Southern Miss."

Harris also tells us one of the things he loves is the new coaching staff at Southern Miss.

"The new coaches are a great group, they see me and like me inside as a defensive tackle," he added.

When asked if his decision will be one that comes down to signing day, he just wasn't sure. "It might, it might not, I'm just not sure yet."

We'll have follow ups with Harris as signing day nears.
