"I am working at football right now," he said. "I had a little injury so I'm kinda laying low, but I'm just working out with the team and building a bond with my new teammates coming up.
"We are installing a new offense so I'm learning that and just trying to build chemistry with the guys."
Jackson said was pleased with where he and his team was last season, but has set high expectations for the next one.
"I was very pleased with where we were last season," he said. "We have a young QB this year but I think we are going to be fine. Our running game will be effective and I think we are going to be pretty good.
"We just have to work hard over the summer break and get things going."
Jackson, who currently holds an offer from Southern Miss, said he's hearing from several other schools as well.
"So far recently I've been hearing from Georgia Tech and Ole Miss," he said. "They are both wanting me to come to my junior day.
"I'm hearing from Southern Miss and I know I'll hear about their junior day real soon."
What is important for Jackson as he's considering where to play at the next level?
"I want to go to a school where I can be developed as a receiver," he said. "I'm not sure where I am going to go, but I am interested in engineering.
"I'm looking for a place where I can play and grow as a player and person, and a place that I can showcase what I can do."
