Brown Closing in on in State Trifecta

Trey Brown of Ackerman High School is making a name for himself in his home state of Mississippi. The explosive Brown holds a pair of offers from Ole Miss and Southern Miss and he believes Mississippi State will end up following suit. Over the course of the next several months, Brown will likely become a household name in the recruiting circles of the Magnolia State.

"I have offers from Ole Miss and Southern Miss," said Brown. "I think Mississippi State is going to be the next school to offer me.

"They told me that they want me to come to some more spring practices and come to their spring game."

Brown reports that the lone junior day event he has attended so far was the Bulldogs' most recent gathering.

"I have been to junior day at Mississippi State," said Brown. "It was a real good visit and I got to see everything.

"I met Coach (David) Turner while I was there and he seems like a good coach."

The talented defensive lineman will get his first look at Southern Miss this weekend when attends the Golden Eagles' junior day.

Brown is pretty familiar with the other two in state programs.

"I have seen the game day atmosphere at Mississippi State and at Ole Miss," said Brown. "I have been to Ole Miss four or five times and I really like the coaches there.

"I like the Grove too."

While Brown is still considering all of his options, he has time frame in mind for his college decision.

"I am thinking about making my commitment on my birthday, October 18th," said Brown. "I am not sure who it is going to be.

"Everybody is still pretty much even, but I feel like I will have a good idea about where I want to go by my birthday."
