Fields Wants to Visit TCU

TCU's defensive prowess has caught the attention of one of the Southeast's best defensive backs. Will he make it to Ft. Worth for a visit? It could happen soon.

The TCU Horned Frogs are in rarified air for their program. As they continue their journey as the newest member of the Big 12, they find themselves being sought out by not just talented players from Texas, but by some of the top players from across the nation. caught up with one prospect that says TCU's emergence as a defensive juggernaut, in a notoriously offensive league, has made quite an impression on him. North Florida Christian's Tony Fields is our subject and here's what he had to say.

"I'm up to 7 offers now and things are looking good with some other schools" said Fields. "I feel like Auburn, Florida and South Carolina are pretty close to offering me."

"If those three offer, they'll be very high on my list; I love all everything about all three programs."

With offers on the table from South Florida, TCU, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and NC State, Fields has already firmly planted himself on the recruiting map. With some local heavy hitters getting involved, does TCU have a chance and more importantly, what's his relationship like with the Frogs?

"Oh yes sir, very much so; I'm very interested" said Fields regarding his level of interest in TCU. "I'm supposed to talk to Coach Luper tonight or tomorrow and I just talked to my head coach about possibly going out there to visit, either for a game or sometime this summer."

"My relationship with Coach Luper is very good" he said. "We've had a strong relationship since the beginning of my sophomore year when he was at Auburn; it's really big for me that he's at TCU."

With a possible visit looming over the summer, or this fall, TCU looks like they're in good shape with Fields. Will a visit elevate the Horned Frogs even more in his eyes? It certainly can't hurt their chances.
