Things picking up for Patterson

It was a good week for Compton (Calif.) Dominguez wide receiver Donyeh Patterson as the talented athlete landed two more scholarship offers and now has five total on the table.

Donyeh Patterson is an emerging receiver who has improved quite a bit over the spring. As a junior he caught 37 balls for 586 yards and four touchdowns and has good size, hands and athleticism.

On the recruiting front, Arizona, San Jose State and Idaho were first out of the gate to offer and the receiver landed two more this week.

"Utah offered Tuesday and I just got Colorado State today," Patterson. "Utah is a great school and I like them a lot. I talked with Coach Shah and he's a good guy and I have a lot of interest in Utah right now.

"Right now I'm still open to everyone recruiting me but it does feel good to have those two Pac 12 offers. Coach Dews from UA was at my school earlier in the week. We've also had Ohio, UNLV, Portland State, San Jose State, Washington, UTEP and Washington State."

Patterson said he might do a few summer camps but hasn't set up any yet.

"I'm taking things pretty slow right now," Patterson said. "I might do some camps, it just depends on who shows interest in me. I do want to take all my official visits and I really want to enjoy the recruiting process.

"We start spring ball May 13 and I think we'll have a lot more schools coming out at that time. Like I said, right now, I'm open to everyone, I don't have any leaders and I just want to play this out and we'll see what happens."
