Steven Dunbar is currently sitting on six offers and conditions look ripe for the 6-2, 190-pounder to continue padding his total.

"Air Force called and told me they were interested," Dunbar recounted. "They said I'd be a good fit with their program. Coach (Jake) Moreland is recruiting me for Air Force. He came to the school and I talked to him, and then I called him once."

Dunbar has had recent contact with Western Kentucky (Coach Brumfield), Houston (Middleton) and ULM (Applewhite).

Michigan State, Kentucky and TCU came by the school," he added. "They all seem pretty interested. Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech want me to come camp."

Tulane, Georgia Tech and Southern Miss are expected to host Dunbar for camp sessions.

"I'd like to get an offer from Mississippi State," said the rising senior, who lists offers from Houston, Kent State, Northern Colorado, ULM, Western Kentucky and Air Force.

"(Georgia) Tech is a nice school with a lot to offer. I like the city life in Atlanta. I've been to Mississippi State twice, too.

Dunbar plans a return trip to Starkville next month.

Rummel is Louisiana's defending Class 5A state champ. The Raiders close spring training on Wednesday with their second intrasquad scrimmage.

"Our first scrimmage (last Fri.) went good," Dunbar said. "Our defense is going to be real strong this year."

The Raiders will unveil a new starting quarterback for the first time in five years after 2013 signal-caller Damian Williams graduated.

Dunbar is interested in the possibility of joining Williams on MSU's roster.
