After being recruited by numerous schools throughout the nation, the 5-star cornerback has narrowed his list down to five.
"My top five are Alabama, South Carolina FSU, Mississippi State and Oregon," said Humphrey.
He explained what he likes about each of those five.
"Alabama has a history of national championships.
"South Carolina, I really like (secondary) Coach (Grady) Brown. And (head coach) Steve Spurrier is a great coach.
"Mississippi State was one of the first schools to get on me. They've been on me ever since my second game of high school football. (Defensive coordinator) Coach (Geoff) Collins, (defensive backs) Coach (Deshea) Townsend, all those guys.
"Oregon, everybody in their heart has a little love for Oregon.
"FSU, I like (defensive backs) Coach (Jeremy) Pruitt. FSU has a lot of two-sport guys. They have an amazing track program. And I want to do both sports."
Humphrey was ranked No. 1 in the 300 and 110 hurdles this past track season with times of 35.60 and 13.38 seconds.
Now that he has his list cut down to a final five, the next step in the recruiting process is to learn even more about each of the five. He'll start doing that this summer.
"I'm going to try and get officials to all of those schools," said Humphrey. "I'm going to try and get to South Carolina and Mississippi State maybe this summer on unofficials. I'll probably go to Florida State on an official visit."
He explained what he'll be looking for when visiting each of the schools.
"I'm going to be looking at their atmosphere, if the defense likes to pressure a lot, that type of stuff," said Humphrey. "I'm also going to see if they can get me to the next level. That's the real reason I'm making the decision, to try and get to the next level."
He plans on making his decision late fall or early winter.
"I'll see how it goes with those schools, then probably make a decision after my season and the college season," said Humphrey.
