Houston camped at Mississippi State this Friday. MSU is one of the schools that he is interested in. He talked about his relationship with the coaches at MSU.
"I have a good relationship with (assistant) Coach (George) Brooks and (head) Coach (Rick) Ray," he said. "They call me ever now and then but mostly I know them because Coach Brooks has been recruiting me since the 8th grade."
He explained what Brooks liked about him so early in his career.
"When I was younger I played varsity and he said he liked how I played defense, playing against bigger guys and not backing down from them," said Houston.
Houston has a solid overall game but he prides himself on his defense.
"I play fundamentally sound basketball, play above the rim but mainly play defense," he said. "(Offensively) I like to play above the rim, like to slash, shoot it pretty well but I am mainly going to focus on defense. I block shots, keep pressure on the ball and communicate."
Mississippi State is one of many colleges showing interest in him.
"I have Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia, George Mason, Louisiana Tech, Clemson, Florida State, Mississippi State and many more (recruiting me)," said Houston.
Six schools have already offered him scholarships.
"I have offers from Mississippi State, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, George Mason and Seton Hall," he said.
As of now, he's wide opened to all of the schools recruiting him.
"I'm still looking at all of the schools," said Houston.
