Liggins found his future home

Mississippi State found an in-state defensive end they liked, they offered him, and they received a new commitments. Darius Liggins talks about his decision here...

Oxford, Miss. defensive end Darius Liggins committed to Mississippi State Saturday afternoon and he is feeling good about his future in Starkville.

"I really bonded with the coaches, especially Coach [David] Turner, and I made my decision to go to Mississippi State. It is pretty exciting for me," Liggins told Scout.

The time with Turner during camp is what really led to this decision.

"Coach Turner is a great coach and he worked with me on using my hands more, he helped with my footwork, and he helped with my moves off the ball. He really helped me and I know he will make me a lot better in the future.

"We just connected and I really like him a lot. We got close, he made me better, and he is someone I look forward to playing for."

The offer from Mississippi State is the only one for the 6-foot-5, 230 pound rising senior. If new offers come in now, will that affect his commitment?

"I mean, I cannot control the future, but I am pretty much locked in on Mississippi State. I am close to their coaches, I feel good about the program, and I like being committed to Mississippi State."

Liggins had 92 tackles and eight sacks in 2012.
