Considered one of, if not the, top receiver in Mississippi for the class of 2014, Jackson has held an offer from USM for quite some time now.
The Golden Eagles have been in the picture for the big time receiver, and they remain there today.
"Camp was awesome today, and to be honest, I'm thinking about Southern Miss in my top 3," he told GoldenEaglePride.com tonight.
"We made camp competitive today, and I liked that."
The players took time to tour the campus, but Jackson knows all about it after an unofficial visit with Coach Monken a few weeks ago.
Are the Golden Eagles in the mix for Jackson? I asked him that directly, and he gave a very direct answer.
"Yes, they are," he said. "I mean I believe if I get there and work hard I believe I can start. Also, being close to home factors into the decision."
Jackson has offers from Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama, and is hearing from a lot of other schools looking to get in with the talented receiver.
Right now, he doesn't have a time table for his decision, and just wants to take his time, his visits, and make the best choice for him.
