Nevitt, a member of the ESPNU HoopGurlz 100 Watch List for the class of 2014 (the group of 100 players below the top 100 list), recently camped at Mississippi State. She talked about what she learned while at the camp.
"(Mississippi State head) Coach (Vic) Schaefer is big on defense," said Nevitt. "So, he really helped me on the defense; things like keeping low and being aggressive. I was already aggressive but he had me become even more aware of what to expect; what the other players will do and then predict what is going to happen on the court."
Nevitt described her game, both offensively and defensively.
"Offensively, I'm an outside shooter, a three-point shooter, but I'm good on defense, too," she said. "I'm known for containing my man. I don't really get steals but they won't score if I'm guarding them. I'm good with help(side defense) also."
Several colleges are recruiting Nevitt.
"I have offers from SMU and Michigan State and Mississippi State is looking at me hard," she said. "I'm also looking at Auburn, South Carolina and the University of Kansas."
Of the colleges recruiting her, Mississippi State has a special place in her heart due to her relationship with the Schaefer family.
"I've always loved Coach Schafer," said Nevitt. "I played with (his daughter) Blair for a couple of years. They are like my family away from home. They are really, really big in my recruitment. I love them all."
Keep it on Scout.com as we continue to follow the recruitment of this very talented class of 2014 guard.
