What are your strengths on the baseball field?
"I hit the ball for power and average and I can spray the ball to all fields. I'm decent with my glove and I have a good arm for right field."

When you say you have a good arm, what kind of outfield velocity do you have?
"90 to 93 throwing from right field to home plate."

Talking to your summer travel team coach, he said you have big-time talent. How long have you know that you have a special talent to play baseball?
"My coach Paul Byrd, who played in the big leagues for 15 years, told me when I was 13-years-old that I had a gift with the bat and my arm."

Being just 13, did you understand the significance of that?
"I was still on the bench back then because I was still a competitive swimmer. It was a very jaw-dropping experience for my family and I. After that year, I found out that my abilities were different than others."

You weren't just your normal swimmer, were you?
"I own three national records in swimming. It was 12U and I own three national records in that age group."

But you gave up swimming when you were 13 didn't you?
"Yes sir, I did. It was a big decision for me to drop the swimming. But I did it based on what Coach Byrd told me." (He was such a great swimmer, he was considered an Olympic Hopeful for the 2012 US Olympic team when he decided to quit competitive swimming.-Gene)

Swimmers are normally in great shape. Did the swimming help you with baseball?
"Yes sir, it does. I still swim to this day to keep in shape. It strengthens by back and core which helps me in the outfield and also when I swing the bat. When you swing the bat you use your core. I'm not a big dude, maybe 180 to 185 and I'm being modest and I'm still hitting the ball pretty far. My mom says swimming is my edge."

Recruiting-wise, who is showing interest in you?
"LSU, Clemson, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Ole Miss are showing interest. Offers-wise, I have them from Georgia and Georgia Tech."

You are here at Mississippi State playing a doubleheader with your team. Do you feel like Mississippi State is going to offer? You also mentioned that LSU is looking at you. Do you feel like they will offer you as well?
"I hope so. This (Mississippi State) facility (Palmeiro Center) is amazing. It's a great experience just to play here. And I hope LSU offers me as well. Both schools are incredible. And both think I have a lot of room to grow. And they can't wait until I get to my senior year." (Mississippi State did offer Seth a few days ago.-Gene)

You are just now going into your sophomore year and you have a lot of colleges recruiting you, some have even offered. How do you handle that considering how young you still are?
"As my mom says, keep a humble heart. By keeping a humble heart, it keeps everything in perspective. When you go 0-for-3, that is going to happen. That's why you have to stay humble. You take it step by step and play every game like it is your last."

What are you looking for in a college?
"Anywhere I go I want to be able to grow my talents. You hear about kids who get drafted in high school then drop when they go to college. I want to go somewhere where I can get bigger, stronger and faster and be picked by a big league team."
