You play for the Excel Blue Sox travel team. How does that help you?
"The coaches are really good working with you on things you need to work on. They are good about getting us in front of a lot of college coaches, especially going over to East Cobb (GA) and Fort Myers (FL). We also play against a lot of good talent. That really helps you prepare for the college level."
Who are your coaches?
"Josh Beshears is my coach this year. Matthew Maniscalco was my coach last year. Steve Gendron will be my coach next year."
How long have you played for them?
"This is my second year."
What schools are showing interest in you?
"Mississippi State, Jacksonville State, Troy, Auburn a little bit."
Have you taken any unofficial visits to any of those schools?
"I have taken an unofficial visit to Mississippi State. Jacksonville State wants me to come over there on August 17th. I'll go there."
When you visited Mississippi State what did the coaches say they liked about you?
"(MSU pitching) Coach (Butch) Thompson said he really likes my body size and the way that I throw the ball. He said he has a lot to work with with me. (MSU assistant) Coach (Nick) Mingione) likes the way I run the bases and how aggressive I am on the base paths."
What positions do you play?
"Pitcher, first base and center field."
What are you mainly being recruited as?
"Mississippi State is looking at me as a pitcher. Everybody says I'm a real good pitcher but they also like the way I play in the outfield because I have good speed and track down a lot of fly balls."
What are your recruiting plans for the next few months?
"I want to get in touch with all the coaches at the college that I want to visit. I also want to get in front of the coaches and show them what I can do."
