Cooke had a strong night punting with punts of 46, 42, 41 and 22 yards.
The 22 yarder was a pooch punt from the left hash that went out of bounds inside the 20.
Cooke also reeled in a 27 yard pass reception on the night.
Darius Liggins and Oxford knocked off defending state champion Jackson Prep 32-20.
On the night, Liggins recorded four tackles.
Oxford will make the trek to Starkville High School next week to take on the defending 5A state champion Yellow Jackets (1-0) who blanked Noxubee County 17-0 in the season opener for both teams.
Gerri Green and Greenville-Weston won an important delta showdown on Friday night as the edged out Indianola-Gentry 25-22.
Green and his teammates will take the show on the road next week as they travel to Clarksdale (0-1).
Jamoral Graham and Newton County wore out Neshoba Central 47-14.
Graham scored on touchdown runs of 66 and 27 yards and handled the PATs.
Newton County (1-0) will travel to SE Lauderdale (1-0) next week and matchup with 2015 WR Damion Willis.
Lashard Durr and Harrison Central quieted Stone 21-7 thanks to a strong defensive showing.
Durr scored on a 80 yard catch and run to open the scoring.
The Red Rebels will host West Harrison next week.
Chris Rayford and Byhlia picked up an impressive season opening win over Holly Springs Friday 32-8.
Rayford rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns on just seven carries. He also added five tackles on defense.
