  • Ht: Wt: 6-foot-1, 160
  • Bats-Throws: L/L
  • High School: Lovett School (Atlanta, GA)

You were consistently throwing 87-88 at the Mississippi State camp. Your fastball also had movement on it. Is that your normal velocity?
"Yes sir, that's about normal for me."

As for recruiting, what schools are showing interest in you?
"Mississippi State, Arkansas, Duke, Clemson and College of Charleston."

Which schools are you interested in?
"I'm interested in all of those schools. My hope is to go somewhere where I can get a really good education and play for a really good baseball program. I feel like that will be in the SEC or the ACC, somewhere like that where I can really make an impact."

Which schools have offered you so far?
"Mercer, College of Charleston, South Alabama and Wofford."

As for as offers, what are the other schools saying about potential offers?
"In about two weeks I'm going to Duke to make an official visit. And it's my understanding that they are going to make me an offer at that time. With Arkansas, I'm going to give them a call tonight or tomorrow. Mississippi State is going to talk it over, then call me tomorrow."

When you talk to the college coaches what do they say they like about you?
"They like my academics. Specially (baseball-wise), they like my ability to hold runners on because I have a really good pickoff move. They also like how well I know the game and what is going on, what pitch to thrown in what situation."

Where have you camped and where have you unofficially visited?
"I went to a camp and on an unofficial visit to Duke and Arkansas. I have also unofficially visit the College of Charleston."

Individually, what was your impression of each school?
"Arkansas, which is an SEC school also, just the feel of how the entire town kind of rallies around the entire school, the entire athletics. That is something that interested me and something that I like. At Duke, you could tell that it is a very academic type school. I go to Lovett School, a private school in Atlanta, and we pride ourselves on academics. Their academics and athletics appeal to me as well."

You just got through with a camp at Mississippi State. What are your thoughts about them?
"(MSU pitching) Coach (Butch) Thompson and I have had a relationship for about a year now. Our pitching coach at Lovett pitched at Mississippi State and he knows Coach Thompson pretty well. He helped set up the relationship last fall. And Coach Thompson and I have been keeping in touch ever since."

What were some things that Coach Thompson said he likes about you?
"More of the same things (the other coaches say about me). He is obviously a Mississippi State Bulldog, but he's used the term Bulldog before (to describe me), which means I'm a competitor. He likes that I know what it takes to win. And that's my ultimate goal as a pitcher, to win. It's not about having good stats but about the team effort and helping the team win."
