Magee committed to Josh Pastner and the Memphis Tigers, per multiple sources. Magee told Jason Smith, of the Commercial Appeal, that he felt wanted by the Tigers.
"I know I'm a priority to them and I know I'm wanted," Magee told the paper. "As a player, that's all you really want from a head coach and the staff, that the whole staff wants you there.
"I'm not too far from home, but I am away from home. That's real good. My mom and dad can watch me play, and my (1-year-old) son too. I'm just blessed that I was able to get this opportunity. I'm happy I didn't let it pass me up."
Magee built on his reputation in July, playing at the LeBron James Skills Academy. He has good size for the point guard position, makes good decisions when he has the ball in his hands and is an impressive scorer from mid-range.
A three-star recruit, Magee is currently ranked No. 26 at the point guard position.
