"C.J. has committed to UMass," said Team Thad AAU director Norton Hurd. "He felt real comfortable with the coaching staff and his ability to contribute there right away."
In the end it came down to Auburn or Massachusetts for the 6-foot-5 small forward. Anderson is a solid shooter, though the form is awkward, can get to the rim some, and is an above average athlete. At times during the summer Anderson took a back seat to other talented teammates, but he is someone who attracted a lot of high major interest throughout the process.
Massachusetts was a fixture at Anderson's games this summer. Head Coach Derek Kellogg is familiar with the Memphis area after spending years as an assistant, and he has used those connections well to land quality players.
Anderson is a good commitment and should help the Minutemen continue to be at or near the top of the league standings.
