"When I walked in they told me Coach Holtz wanted to talk with me," Belton recounted. "He'd seen me play, said he'd heard great things about me, and hoped I'll be able to come back to my hometown and play for Tech."
While Belton is the starting quarterback for West Monroe, he originally hails from Ruston.
"It's always a good feeling to get an offer," said the sophomore, whose first one came from the Cajuns last summer. "Tech always has had a great football team, from when Terry Bradshaw was there to now with D.J. Banks."
Belton also cited the "good atmosphere" at the Tech game.
Belton kept for a 60-yard touchdown in West Monroe's 34-13 win over Ruston last Friday. He's rushed for at least one score in five of the 5-2 Rebels' games.
