Thomas committed to Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen last Saturday during MSU's Junior Day.
"Coach Mullen came over when we were putting the jerseys on. I talked to him a little bit. I told him that I wanted to commit," said Thomas. "He started smiling and said it was good to have me join the Bulldog family."
The reaction he received from Mullen impressed him.
"It was great to see that," said the talented running back. "I know that he will be on my side."
He explained the things that he likes about Mississippi State.
"The players are cool and I liked the weight room and how everything was set up," said Thomas. "(MSU offensive line) Coach (John Hevesy is my recruiting coach a great guy, I like talking to him. I get along with him. And it's great that I will be able to play in the SEC."
He was also able to meet his future position coach, Mississippi State running backs coach Greg Knox.
"I talked with Coach Knox," said Thomas. "He sounded good to me. I liked him, too."
One player that really stood out to him was the one who hosted him during his MSU Junior Day visit, Josh Robinson.
"I spent a lot of time with Josh (Robinson), the running back," said Thomas. "He was the one who had me doing everything. He's cool. He's like me, he wants to do the best that he can do and he'll work hard to do it."
Thomas is excited that his recruitment is over and that he knows where he will be playing in college. Playing college is a goal that he has had for a long time.
"I am very excited because since my 9th grade year I have been planning on going to college," said Thomas. "I was on the varsity team as a freshman and I was on the bench the first two games. They put me in the third game and I've started ever since."
