Sullivan Takes in Starkville

Taylorsville High School seems to have college level prospects every since year. While the Tar Tars have not had a player sign with in SEC school since Billy Hamilton inked with Mississippi State, several THS standouts have drawn serious interest. Perhaps the top candidate for a major college offer this year is wide out Anfernee Sullivan. Sullivan recently attended junior day at Mississippi State.

Anfernee Sullivan profile

"I had a great time at Mississippi State. I loved it up there," said Sullivan. "We got to see all of the buildings, the academic center and the dorms we would be staying in if we went there.

"I really liked it and I think that would be a great place to go."

Sullivan had the chance to hear more about how the Bulldogs like to use their wide receivers from Mississippi State assistant Billy Gonzales.

"I liked him," said Sullivan of Gonzales. "He told us that he expects all of his players to play special teams and receiver.

"He said that size doesn't really matter that much to him, because they have receivers from 5-10 to 6-5.

"I didn't get the chance to talk one-on-one with him, but I liked what he had to say."

Sullivan has taken in junior day trips to both Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

"Both of them are awesome," said Sullivan. "They have nice campuses and I like both of them.

"They have a lot of nice facilities and I liked seeing both of them.

"I am not sure where else I am going this spring. I am going to have to sit down with my coach and set a schedule for all of that, but I know we're going to see some other schools."

So far, Sullivan has not been offered a scholarship, but that is sure to chance once coaches have the chance to see him in person starting this spring.

"I can't wait for spring practice," said Sullivan. "I am so amped up to get back out there.

"I can't believe it's about to start, but I am ready to show people what I can do."
