Bulldogs One of a Half Dozen for Mixon

Keith Mixon expected to have some options for college, but he was not anticipating a half dozen offers before the end of his junior year of high school. With a pair of SEC opportunities, Mixon is just getting a handle on his potential as a college prospect. A busy summer should yield more offers, but Mixon is pretty satisfied with his early haul.

"I have offers from Mississippi State, Arkansas State, South Alabama, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt and Southern Miss," said Mixon. "I am hearing from Auburn, Clemson and a few other schools too."

Mixon's most recently college campus visit was to Mississippi State for the Bulldogs' junior day on February 22nd.

"I had a good time at Mississippi State," said Mixon. "I got to meet Coach (Geoff) Collins.

"He was telling me how glad he was that I came and he showed me around the campus."

The Bulldogs see Mixon as a prospect who could possibly fit in at a couple of offensive positions.

"I got to go in the meetings with the running backs and the receivers," said Mixon. "I learned a lot from both of those coaches especially Coach (Greg) Knox.

"Mississippi State runs the spread and they said that they could move me around and match me up with the linebacker and get me in space.

"I like their offense, because it's a lot like what we run in high school."

While the Bulldogs have made a strong early impression, Mixon is planning to take his time with his selection.

"I am going to just wait it out," explained Mixon. "I am going to go some camps this summer and see what all happens after that.

"I am going to keep everybody even for right now, but I am going to camp at Auburn, Mississippi State, Alabama and probably Clemson this summer and then I am just going to see how things go."
