Linton Adding New Offers

Armani Linton committed to Mississippi State during a junior day visit to Starkville in early February. Since casting his lot with the Bulldogs, Linton has seen several schools pick up the recruiting pace in hopes of getting back in the race. Despite a recent rush of offers, Linton reports his commitment to Coach Dan Mullen and his staff remains in tact.

Louisiana-Lafayette, Memphis and Ole Miss have all extended offers to the Walnut product over the course of the last few weeks.

Linton made the trip to Oxford recently to see the Rebels open spring practice shortly after Hugh Freeze extended an offer.

"Ole Miss offered me," said Linton. "It's a nice opportunity and it's something to think about, but I am still committed to Mississippi State and I have told everybody that."

Shortly after the Rebels offered, Linton picked up the phone and dialed Starkville.

"I called Coach (Scott) Sallach and I let him know that Ole Miss offered me," said Linton. "I wanted to be up front with all of that, because I am committed to them.

"I am not the kind of person who tries to keep things hidden, so I wanted to call Coach Sallach and let him know what all was going on.

"I feel like if you try to keep something undercover like that it will just end up causing you problems."

Linton is currently doing his part to represent his school on the baseball diamond before football begins for the spring semester.

In addition to his own practice sessions, Linton reports that he may take in some college practices.

"I am probably going to see Mississippi State and Ole Miss practice this spring some time, but I am not sure when," explained Linton. "I am still committed to Mississippi State and I am happy with my decision, but I don't want to close any doors because you never know what might happen down the road."
