"I enjoyed going up there and seeing them practice," said Dear. "I went up there by myself this time and it was the first time I got to see them practice."
Dear reports that he enjoyed getting the behind the scenes look at Mississippi State.
"They were having fun and I liked seeing that."
Dear's access to the Bulldog practice sessions were not limited to the positional and team drills.
"I got a chance to go into the special teams meeting and the receivers' meeting," said Dear. "I got to see how they do everything and how the coaches coach and all of that.
"I had a good time and I am glad I went."
In addition to being an interested onlooker during the day's activities, Dear was treated like a welcomed guest.
"I got to talk some with Coach (Dan) Mullen, Coach (Billy) Gonzales and Coach (Greg) Knox and most of the other coaches came over to talk with me," said Dear. "They are always telling me how much they want me up there, but they aren't pressuring me.
"They are just making me feel welcomed and they aren't pushing me."
Dear is considering taking an unofficial visit to Ole Miss to see the Rebels in action during the spring, but he has not finalized a date for that trip.
There had been some discussion about Dear making a decision around signing day, but that time frame appeared to be changing.
Now the scout National 300 member is now back in the frame of mind where a post season decision may be the way to go.
"I am thinking about waiting until signing day," said Dear. "I am just going to take my time with everything and be sure about my decision."
